We’re delighted to be working with CHG Developments again, helping them to create this landmark development on one of the main routes into Portsmouth.

The 152-bed scheme includes the new-specification Travelodge ‘Super Rooms’ and other upgrades to the finishes, which when combined with the architectural details of the building, will make this a truly eye-catching scheme. On piled foundations, we’re constructing the project from a steel frame with cast in-situ floors and pre-cast staircases – a design developed in collaboration with the whole project team to take into account strict structural, fire, acoustic and commercial requirements. This multidisciplinary collaboration is typical of our approach, and ensures we explore all opportunities to achieve optimum value for our clients.

The building must achieve BREEAM Excellent standard, so the team has performed several cost-benefit analyses to determine the most robust and cost-effective way to achieve such a high standard. Rather than secure additional points by simply adding clever technology, we’ve focused on raising fundamental standards across the build.

Travelodge Portsmouth is scheduled for completion in Q4 2019.
